Powered directly from a 12V battery system, the oven draws a steady 8.3 amps during operation and can be connected using the included extension lead with cigarette or Merit plug options, or permanently wired using a 20A Anderson plug setup for optimal performance.

The insulated stainless-steel body is one of the key advantages of the Road Chef Oven. Even while cooking at temperatures up to approximately 180°C, the external surfaces remain cool enough to touch safely, making the oven ideal for confined spaces such as caravans, canopy setups and truck cabins. Because the oven is fully insulated and self-contained, it also requires no external ventilation, allowing it to be safely recessed into cabinetry or shelving systems.

Operation is simple and reliable. The adjustable thermostat allows you to select your preferred cooking temperature, while the built-in timer automatically switches the oven off once cooking is complete and sounds a reminder bell.

Inside the oven, two removable telescopic slide-out shelves provide flexible cooking arrangements. Use both shelves for pies and snacks, remove one shelf for larger dishes such as roasts or casseroles, or remove both shelves entirely for direct heating on the oven base.

The insulated locking door is secured using a strong port-style latch designed to remain closed even on rough corrugated roads and off-road tracks. Steam vents help maintain crisp pastry and improve roasting performance by allowing moisture to escape during cooking.
